Offered plans:
Summary of the Sign-up Process :
Flocksy offers two tiers of subscription plans - access plan ($995) and team plan ($495). You have the option of paying monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Paying quarterly will save you 10%, and yearly saves you 15%.
The sign-up process was quick and easy. After filling out your details, you’re asked to choose which plan - Team or Access plan to subscribe to. I chose the team plan. The Team plan is better suited for smaller teams that require only five users. The Access plan is recommended for corporations and agencies that can require up to 20 users on the account. It also comes with website/app design, voiceovers, and custom illustrations.
After payment, a project manager reached out asking if I’d like to speak or I could get straight to requesting designs. For this review, I asked for two simple designs for Servicelist.
Here’s how it went.
Creating my first project
Designs can be requested directly from their platform by filling out a form. If you have the agency plan, then you can request designs by email as well. The request first starts by asking what type of project you’re looking to have created: copywriting, graphic design, or video editing & creation. Flocksy offers many services for you to choose from.
After choosing the graphic design category, I was given a list of designers that I could choose to work on my project. By clicking on a “view profile” button, I could look at their rating, the number of clients he/she’s worked with, as well as a mini design portfolio. This part is optional, and you can choose to have a designer randomly assigned to you.
Afterward, Flocksy asks you to create a “bucket,” its word for a brand. This part is also optional. However, it can be helpful for the designer to create a design suited for your brand.
Then, I was asked to fill out a detailed form which took me around 10-15 minutes to complete.
Overall thoughts on Flocksy’s Designs
Business Card: (requested a designer)
Total Delivery Time: 7 hours
- 1st design - The designer assigned, Maria, provided me two designs in under 24 hours. I liked how Flocksy offers multiple options to choose from. However, the design had several problems with alignment and proportions. The company name was not aligned to the logo way, and they sized our company name too small compared to the logo size. These were simple mistakes that could have been avoided if the designer took the time to review the design properly.
- Revision - The mistake was quickly fixed. The revision was made in 38 minutes and done right.
Blog cover image: (didn’t request a designer)
Total Delivery Time: 8 hours
- 1st design - Same designer - Maria was on this project. I provided three examples and asked for a designer similar with space in the middle for a blog title. The designer recreated the blog image photo. Once again, there were problems with the alignment and proportions. The icons seemed as though they were placed randomly.
- Revision - I requested a revision for the icons to be rearranged in a zigzag pattern around the border of the graphic. Revision was made in 34 minutes, however, the designer didn’t correctly understand what I wanted.
Flocksy Review:
Pros:
- Quick registration
- Estimated delivery time - was accurate
- Revisions were made quickly
- Reaching out to support is easy, and the response was fast
- Delivered above and beyond on their 24-hour promise
Cons:
- No onboarding - Dashboard was not easily understandable.
- Point and click was glitchy
- Designers made easy mistakes ex: alignment
- The designer I wanted was not added
- Plans except for agency plans allow only one active project at a time. Maybe an inconvenience if you need multiple designs worked on at once.
- Missed directions for one of the projects, which cost some time.
Rating:
Quality of Designs: 3 stars
The designer made many simple mistakes, such as alignment with the business card design I requested. The proportion of the text to the logo also seemed off. For the blog cover graphic, design elements seemed as though they were randomly placed without reason.
Turnaround time: 5 stars
Flocksy’s designers were extremely fast with delivering designs. Both designs I requested were completed in under 24 hours, with revisions included. They went above and beyond in terms of speed.
Communication: 4 stars
Flocksy is not shy when it comes to communication. This is both a good and bad thing. There are many messages from both the designer, your project manager, and Flocksy’s system. It’s a little overwhelming because there’s so much communication that it seems unnecessary. An example was how Flocksy notifies you if you made a revision request.
Customer Service: 5 stars
There are two ways of reaching out for assistance: 1. calling, live chat, or messaging your project manager. I reached out to customer service through the live chat feature to cancel my membership. The representative responded quickly in a matter of seconds and said he would put a ticket in.
Ease-of-Use: 3 Stars
Flocksy’s platform was easy to use once I got adjusted to using it. The platform is made so that it’s easy to access both completed, pending, and current projects. I deducted two stars because some features did seem repetitive, which confused me, i.e., the difference between project files and complete projects. The various ways to do things made me feel overwhelmed when using the platform.
Total Score: 20/25
Final Verdict:
At the end of this Flocksy review, Flocksy seems to work well with businesses that require design work done fast and to be done exactly as you envision. The overall turnaround time on designs was impressive. Flocksy’s fast and consistent communication also will make you feel valued as a customer. The only downside is that Flocksy may not be the unlimited graphic design service for you if you’re expecting high-quality designs and creativity.
