The modern age is one of technological advancement and AI content writers are at the forefront of this revolution. AI content writers have become increasingly popular in recent years and can be more affordable than hiring an actual copywriter. They generate content quickly, accurately, and at scale, allowing businesses to get their message out faster and more efficiently. With AI content platforms, businesses can create high-quality content with minimal effort and cost.
Rytr is one such platform – an AI-powered writing assistant that helps professionals produce usable content quickly. It employs natural language processing (NLP) to identify errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. With Rytr, you can generate content ideas at scale and write better and faster with the help of AI. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how Rytr works and see how it stacks up against competitors.
Rytr Key Features
No matter what tier you choose (see below), these core features will be included:
- The ability to write in more than 30 languages
- AI-generated images every month (the amount depends on the pricing tier)
- Access to more than 20 tones (eg. assertive, candid, casual, etc)
- A plagiarism checker
- Rytr community access
Rytr Pricing Options
With three different pricing tiers, you can choose the plan that best suits your needs. Whether you're a freelancer looking for a few extra hours of productivity, or a company that generates a lot of content, Rytr is pretty accessible across the board.
Free - up to 10k characters per month
If you’re just dabbling with AI content writing, this is a great place to start. For example, maybe you just need Rytr to create a few emails, one blog per month, or some product descriptions. According to Google, 10,000 characters equates to roughly 1500-3000 words or 20 single-spaced pages. That’s not bad at all for the free version of a tool.
Saver - up to 100k characters per month
A bit more robust is the Saver plan for just $9/month. Again, the price is a steal and your character count gets bumped up to 100,000. According to Google, this is somewhere between 14,000 and 30,000 words. So if you’re producing a set amount of content every month, you can roughly estimate if this will be enough. In addition, this tier includes the ability to create a custom use case. A use case is a specific type of content you know you’ll need often (more info below).
Unlimited
If you’re a heavy duty content producer, unlimited is your best bet for $29/month. This might be the right choice for writers and marketers with several clients or entrepreneurs with multiple brands. Unlimited includes everything from the prior tiers along with a dedicated Account Manager and priority email/chat support.
If purchasing Saver or Unlimited, you’ll get two months free if you pay annually (instead of monthly).
Using Rytr
Now let's look at what it's like to use the platform.
Using Rytr was a pretty seamless process. You simply log in and the text box is ready to use right away. It’s pretty easy to blow through the free plan’s character limit, so experiment wisely.
Click the History tab to see the content you’ve generated in the past.
Toggle between light and dark mode.
If you chose the Saver or Unlimited plan, you can create a use case. For example, let’s say you are often required to send introductory emails out to groups of new students. You’d give Rytr an example of what this might look like under the ‘Custom Use Cases’ tab. Then when you’re ready to generate one, simply select this new content type from the drop down menu on the left sidebar (eg. introductory email).
You can track your usage in the Account section and see how close you are to hitting your limit. The only downside is that it’s much easier to understand word-count limits, but for some reason Rytr measures your usage through character-count.
Integrations to the platform include SERP analysis and keyword suggestions via Semrush.
Overall, Rytr is a pretty intuitive tool that requires little explanation.
Better than other AI Writers?
We can best determine the value of Rytr by comparing it to leading AI content platforms. Of course, the main criteria to consider is content quality and price. Yes, Rytr is affordable, but that doesn’t mean much if the writing is poor. Similarly, a pricey but well-performing platform might not fit into your budget.
I chose two other popular tools and ran a comparison test.
Jasper.AI vs Rytr
Jasper is one of the most popular AI content writers out right now. 50k words starts at $49/month. You can go as high as 700k words per month for $500/month before you'd need to contact Jasper's team for a custom plan.
This platform is much more complex than Rytr because it relies on specific commands. For example, you might type "write a video script outline for a video titled [blank]. If you happen to type a command wrong and get unusable content (like I did), it still counts toward your monthly total.
The backend is also more complex compared to Rytr’s minimalist setup. For this reason, I don’t think Jasper is really worth it – There’s a decent learning curve, and it’s more expensive than Rytr.
Copy.AI vs Rytr
CopyAI is an AI content writer with a very similar pricing model. The tool is free up to 2000 words per month. For $36/month you get unlimited words.
Unfortunately, when I tested out the platform, the writing quality was subpar. Copy.ai repeated itself and sometimes even produced inaccurate content. This didn’t seem to be an issue with Rytr. Part of the reason may be that Copy.AI creates entire blog posts at once, while Rytr does only one section at a time (more specific and less room for error).
All in all, Rytr meets the criteria for both quality and affordability making it a great AI writing option. The content was better than Copy.AI, and there was no annoying learning curve as with Jasper. Rytr for the win.
